WOMEN IN ART
"Art and Science: Two sides of a coin"
Ms Sayoni Batabyal
A decade long experience as a Scientist creating and innovating Therapeutic Skin Care and Oral Health Care Products working in global consumer health care organizations such as Unilever, Colgate - Palmolive and GlaxoSmithKline. She has designed several novel innovations and state of the art technologies for better skincare and oral care products in collaboration with Universities and science institutions. She finds her passion for investigating problems faced by the consumers and creatively design product solutions.
She is also an Artist by passion who has exhibited in the UK, Australia and India and is an advocate of Art as the basis for all things creative and development of Science.

Ms Pina Russo
Architect, Interior and Set Designer
PhD in Architectural and Environmental Projection and Composition
Ms Pina Russo graduated with a First-class Honours MA Degree in Architecture by a thesis in Scenography about the Tale of Hoffmann, winning the San Giuliano Prize and Grant. She got a PhD in Architectural and Environmental Projection and Composition with a dissertation titled The Architecture of the Scene: Space, Body and Project at University Federico II in Naples, Italy. She is graduated in Classic and Modern Ballet as well.
Her studies are focused on the relationship between the human body, its movements, and the space around, considering the furniture, the props and the project in itself as an extension of the human body in the spatial environment.
As Tutor of Interior design and Scenography Courses at the University of Naples, she is involved in researching and experimentation of moveable and modular structural furniture and scenic machines for interior designing, opera, theatre and ballet.
As Architect she worked in a Turkish London-based award-winning building and refurbishment company. Her recent projects in Italy as self-employed include villas and houses interior designing.
As Set Designer she worked for different companies and her recent credits includes The Power of Love, Anthropometry and DisAnthropometry, The Resurrected, L'Enfant et Les Sortileges, Macbeth, Nutcracker, The Magic Flute, Othello, Clouds, Life of Galileo, Midsummer Night's Dream, The Jewish Wife, Imperial Fizz, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella staged in a theatre in England and in Italy.
She contributes architecture, theatre and art feature articles to the different reviews.

She was born and raised in Antalya, Turkey. Her passion for the sport started with Handball at primary school age. After university in Turkey, she moved to the UK in 2007 and started a university in 2009 to improve her education. During her study, she started to the working carrier in the sports industry as a lifeguard at Harbor Club. With passion, determination and love for this industry, she has been influenced in a positive way. She started her career as a swimming teacher, then swimming manager and tennis manager. 10 years of experience carried her to the sport manager position. She has chosen this career path and believed that this journey will make her a positive and determined person.

Miss Esengül Şaşı
Fashion Designer and Artist
Miss Esengül Şaşı was born in Turkey and graduated from the Tasarı College of Fashion. She worked for 5 years in the fashion industry and became the head designer of a fashion company in Istanbul. In 2008 she moved to London and continued her studies in Fashion at St. Martin’s College. She also obtained a MA in Digital Media Management from the Birkbeck University of London.
In the UK, she designed costumes and sets for many Theaters (such as Opera at Home and Pajarito Theatre Company), in London she became the head designer for some musicals and operas (Greenwich Playhouse Theatre, Bridewell Theatre, Tera Tera Theatre est and Edinburgh Fringe Festival).
In Turkey 2014, Esengül was the fashion and set designer for the Inaugural Launch of the Turkish Heritage Day in London and works since 2015 as a Costume designer for the Beşiktaş Cultural Centre Theatre Group in Istanbul and designed the costumes of two children play.
She is an experienced teacher on the subject of fashion drawing and exhibits her art along with her work involvement with her theatre stage and set design. Another international project of Esengül`s works was a special collection for women styling and dressing clients under her own label ‘Esengül Şaşı” in Bali in 2013. She also provided many art exhibitions in London. Esengül is still working in London / Mayfair in the fashion industry.

Ms Nilşen Kalkan
Financial Management Consultant
Ms Nilşen Kalkan is a financial management consultant at Arcarius Danışmanlık. She has more than 20-year experience in finance field at Turkey’s well-known international companies, such as Ram Trading Company, Arçelik, Garanti Emeklilik and Groupama Group.
Nilşen has Economics degree from Marmara University and Executive MBA degree at Bahçeşehir University.
Nilşen’s main professions are financial planning & budgeting & reporting to support sustainable profit and financial & operational efficiency.
Nilşen is from Turkey and she lives in Istanbul. She likes travelling, reading, horse-riding. Her passion is learning new things and sharing knowledge and experience.

Ms Filiz Demirci
Founder and Director of Technoserve IT Consulting
Ms Filiz Demirci is an IT Security Consultant also the founder and the Director of Technoserve IT Consulting. She is from Istanbul -Turkey, and currently, she lives in London. Filiz is providing consultancy services and training to institutions and individuals in the wide range of IT, particularly Information & Cyber Security.
She has more than 20 years of experience in IT with a diverse range of technologies within multiple industry settings, such as Finance, FMCG, Hospitality, Cyber Security. Filiz loves technology's vital facilitation and also strives to raise awareness of people against potentially harmful aspects of technology and to inspire them to use technology insecure.
She loves to challenge and continues learning. Her hobbies are travelling, playing side flute, swimming and Latin dance. She is also a very social person who likes to organize or participate in social and professional events regularly.

Ms Lily Pullum

Ms Lily Pullum has been working in the construction industry for just over 5 years as a document controller. She has worked on both high end and high rise residential projects before she started to work for the NHS. Now she is part of a team that extends and repairs hospitals. She considers herself very lucky to work a job she loves. Currently, she is studying for a degree In Applied health and safety in construction.
